Lovage is a hardy perennial herb with celery-like leaves and a bold, aromatic flavor. Use a little at a time to elevate soups, broths, sauces and to flavor meat. Valued since ancient Mediterranean times, it offers culinary and medicinal benefits from root to seed. The leaves and stems are edible and flavorful, though it's not meant to be munched on like celery. Keep in mind that lovage can grow up to six feet high.
